Traveling and working across the globe for over 20 years have provided me with rich and valuable cultural experiences. I have been both blessed and humbled by the countless stories shared by others. These stories have highlighted the critical importance of connection with others and pursuit of a meaningful life.
I completed my bachelor's degree at Simon Fraser University (some courses at the University of Basel) with a double major in English and Psychology, and I graduated from Yorkville University with a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology. I am registered as a Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), indicating that I have met "rigourous training and supervision requirements, and aspire to maintain the highest ethical and practice standards."
I am currently pursuing certification in Precision Nutrition level 1, a scientifically proven system for habit-based nutrition coaching, to better support the needs of some of my clientele. I am also in the process of gaining basic training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which is a thoroughly scientifically researched and effective therapeutic approach targeting trauma. EMDR has also been used successfully with other issues such as panic attacks, addiction, complicated grief, performance anxiety, stress, etc.
Finally, I am a Mother, Wife, Aunt, Sister, and Daughter.
My ongoing mission in therapy is to establish a genuine, safe, non-judgemental, open, and trusting relationship- this is essential in achieving positive therapeutic results. I utilize Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT), a formal approach that empowers you, the client, to share how well you are doing and how well I am doing in helping you.
